Katie O’Reilly is a singer and actress whose warm soprano voice and energetic performances are charming audiences throughout the Boston area and beyond. A Connecticut native, Ms. O’Reilly holds degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the Boston Conservatory, and frequently performs with area companies and ensembles.
This past season, Ms. O’Reilly performed as a soloist in the acclaimed North American premiere of Lee Mingwei’s performance art installation, Sonic Blossom, at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Other highlights included a Russian-language production of Tchaikovsky’s Queen of Spades at Lowell House Opera (Prilepa,) Opera Brittenica’s intimate haunted-house style production of The Turn of the Screw (Governess cover,) and a debut with the Hillyer Festival
Orchestra as the featured soloist in their annual Holiday Pops Concert. Other recent area credits include roles with MetroWest Opera, Lowell House Opera and the MIT Gilbert and Sullivan Players (Yum-Yum and Josephine.) The winner of the 2013 Voice Prize at the Orfeo International Music Festival, Ms. O’Reilly is also a member of the musical honors society Pi Kappa Lambda, and appeared as a contestant on the 25th season of Jeopardy!.
An accomplished pianist, Ms. O’Reilly also works as an accompanist, keyboardist, and music director. She is the resident music director of the youth musical education programs Boston Backyard Opera and Mssng Lnks, Inc, and is a member of the voice faculty at the Community Music School of Boston. She also teaches privately out of her home in Somerville.
